You, my friend, are inherently creative. You recreate yourself every single day, from even a cellular level. You are adaptive and tenacious, and truly a being of wonder.
Know what else is full of wonder?
The wild world - that abundant, fertile place that you are a part of not apart from.
Every page of your sketchbook is an opportunity to rediscover wonder. Today, we embrace the curiosity that draws us to study the wild world, approaching our subjects with the fresh eyes of a beginner, no matter how many times we've drawn them before.
🌿 Today's Reflection: Wonder is the gateway to deeper observation. When we allow ourselves to be truly amazed by the curve of a wing, the texture of fur, the glint in an eye, we see beyond our assumptions to the extraordinary reality before us. Your sketchbook is a place to cultivate and capture this sense of curiosity and wonder.
Like the young of every species, we learn best through play and exploration. There's no need to approach your practice with rigid expectations. Instead, let your curiosity guide your hand, celebrating each discovery as it unfolds on the page.
🖋️ Gentle Invitation: Choose a subject you've drawn before, but approach it today as if seeing it for the first time:
List three things you've never noticed before
Draw the same subject from multiple angles
Focus on a tiny detail you usually overlook
Let yourself be surprised by what emerges
Remember: Wonder is a renewable resource - the more we cultivate it, the more it grows.
