What even is time anymore?
I am not sure how, but apparently it is now July. Which likely means that tomorrow is January.
BUT! I am celebrating.
I am celebrating 26 weeks of Drawn to Wild - my gentle weekly sketching class with a new lesson every week. TWENTY SIX wild animals already! And another 26 still to come.
I love to see your honourings - and so many of you have shared with me here and on Instagram and via email and I am CELEBRATING you all as well. You are amazing! You are embracing that wildly rebellious act of self care and courage and curiosity that making art is, and that is no small thing.
Have a look at what we have done so far:
Isn’t that just the tiniest bit very magical? I enjoy creating these every week - I enjoyed looking back at them even more!
Are you Drawn to Wild?
This is entirely self paced, but I recommend setting aside an hour a week to nourish your wild heart and sketch along. And you can break it up to 15 minutes a day and make magic in the margins.
You are so worth it!
Come join us if these little, supportive, gentle and focused lessons look like your kind of place to hang out. We will be waiting for you there!
The wild is calling, and back to my easel I go.
Share your DTW masterpieces (and they are all masterpieces) in the chat with me - I want to see the beauty you made with your hands and wild hearts!
Natalie, I love this post and am sharing it. Your drawings are so incredibly beautiful. I love them all, especially the elephant, giraffe, and ape. I also love your warm, inviting tone in this post.
Congratulations on 26 weeks of sketches! I notice the different colored drawings and was wondering, did you sketch these with colored pencils or pens?
As you know, I primarily work with oil paints, but I used to sketch. I am incredibly rusty at it, but I'm leaning toward doing sketches each week because you so inspire me. I will have to use reference photos.
Last October, I participated in Inktober, where I had to create one ink drawing a day related to a word given each day. It was a lot of fun.
Keep creating your beautiful art!
Incredibly beautiful! The Elephant, the Hyena and the Bear strummed my Heart in a special way 💜
