Between the pages of a sketchbook

I want you to know, deep in your bones, that you are worthy of investing your time, you heart, your mind, in your creativity.

I will never stop advocating for you to create the things that excite you, that light you up, that maybe even scare you a bit to start trying to create. You are an inherently creative being, and truly, we need your art.

Making art is a declaration that you value presence over productivity, connection over consumption, wonder over worry. Your creative practice is both self-care and social action - every sketch an act of gentle defiance against a world that tries to rush us past beauty. There is profound power in choosing to make art that celebrates life, connection, and the wild world - especially when times are difficult. Your consistent creative practice helps keep your heart soft and strong, your spirit resilient and ready. This is how we change the world - one sketch, one heart at a time. Choosing where we give our attention, remembering to breathe and to be present, remembering we are a part of something so much bigger and beautiful than we give credit to.

In times like these, it is art, it is creativity, that will keep us grounded and hopeful.

And so, I want to share something very close to my heart: The Wild Sketchbook is open for enrolment this week - at the same price (she was going to go up this March) and with not only lifetime access to this version, but to all future versions too. The last time I am offering that - because I think we need that ability to continue to share experiences now more than ever too.

After many decades moving through life in professional and academic roles, I now know purpose in this one wild and creative life is twofold. I am here to see and describe via art the wild kin I share this world with - to sing their song, to witness, to celebrate. AND, I am here to help others do the same. I truly want to help you connect to the wild and to your beautiful creativity.

Why I Created The Wild Sketchbook

I designed The Wild Sketchbook because making art is about so much more than moving pigment around on paper. It is a full body experience, and we are complicated, complex, completely wonderful beings that often get the vulnerability of creating all twisted up inside our hearts and minds. There is a lot of fundamentals of art making, and art tutorials inside The Wild Sketchbook, but there is a lot of heart work too, lots of understanding the very normal challenges and thinking about how we can learn from them meaningfully, grow, unfurl, and flourish.
