Brilliant!! And I completely agree. Anyone can learn to draw, it takes practice, perseverance and more than anything, desire. You need to want to!! Love the analogy of driving a car or leaning to walk. So true and such a great way of putting it! 💛

I don’t know why we stopped thinking of creativity as a skill - it was something we used to apprentice to with pride - I wonder why it became thought of as “magical” talent, and not skill? Weird, huh. But it is definitely something open to all of us, if we are willing to push through frustration and fear, and oh my, so worth it!

Natalie, this is a terrific post. This is something I've struggled with in my sketching and oil painting: painting/drawing what I see as opposed to what I think I see. I believe a lot of people have trouble with this. I also agree that anyone can draw. Persistence and practice is what define talent.

That’s what it’s all about isn’t it! Just like any other skill. But it does take practice, and frustration, and learning from that to try again. It is not easy, but the best things aren’t always easy, are they. So very worth it though!!

Beautiful! It has been the best meditation for me, to see reality. One need to learn and practice the skill to look, see and feel, to become skilled in managing disrupting thoughts, so one can become able to find a style that is inline with what one wishes to express.
